Welcome to the magical and whimsical world of the Lincoln Parish Library Children’s Department! The Children’s Department, a world of imagination and discovery, is located directly across from the Check Out Desk.

Our dedicated and creative Children’s staff aims to help children and families to develop a love of reading and learning through a robust collection and an ever changing roster of events and classes.

Stop by the Children’s Department any day of the month to pick up a Crafternoon craft kit or a take-and-make craft kit!

Ongoing Programs

1000 Books Before Kindergarten

Studies have shown that reading to infants and toddlers is helpful in forming literary skills in children. This program helps young children gain confidence in reading.

GOAL - Grade One At the Library

First Grade is an important time for children to learn to read. This program helps to promote a lifelong love of reading.

Reading Adventures

It’s easier to learn to read when it’s enjoyable. Reading adventures aims to make reading fun for all ages. 

Crafternoon

Crafternoon at the Library is great for kids ages 8 and up. Get your glue sticks ready for some crafting fun!

Summer Reading

Each year, the Library hosts a summer reading program. It’s proven that over the summer, students lose some of the skills they’ve learned in the past year. Keep your learner’s reading skills strong and sign up!
